RahXephon was at first dismissed by some as a clone of Neon Genesis Evangelion with it the similar conception of a protagonist (in this case Ayato Kamina) reluctant to exhaust the giant mecha RahXephon to fight otherworldly invaders. The series does a big job of storytelling. The first episode hastily throws many questions at the viewer and has you wondering honest what is the truth in the world of RahXephon. Often enough this series is compared to NGE (Neon Genesis) and is blamed for following in its footsteps. In all honesty I bag RahXephon extremely creative, concept provoking and well done. At first I concept I was asking a lot … that was until I caught RahXephon on G4TV.
RahXephon’s art alone is wonderful. The series is drawn and spellbinding quite beautifully, almost everything on the mask is highly detailed and appropriately colored. The series comes across as extremely elegant in comparison with other mecha-type shows. In other shows the artists sacrifice detail in order to bring you swiftly action sequences – RahXephon doesn’t focus too grand on the action sequences and instead brings you comely visuals you’re distinct to remember.
RahXephon features a creative storyline: a world in which music plays a key role in human events. Music literally shapes the world as a whole and when two races collide (Humans and Mulians) ; music might unprejudiced be the world’s only salvation. Through themes which were heavily researched (as apparent in the Italian musical notation names of the Dolem – enemy Mu fighting units – and through the spend of clever poetry to foreshadow events to reach), RahXephon’s storyline is one of the most lively storylines in a mecha-type present I’ve seen.
RahXephon is a narrative about uncertainty, taking risks, and exploring the nature of reality. And yet for all the major themes explain, through the utilize of downright loveable characters (who are aesthetically shapely as well as sharp), we gawk a world “suffused with sound” in all of its magnificence.
